A RICHMOND picture framing business and gallery that has been established for 23 years has been passed on from retiring owner to two former local school pupils.
John Green said he was delighted when sisters Alex and Jaye Caffrey, backed by their parents Barry and Sue Eastham, bought the business in February.
The women have learnt their craft from Mr Green and are welcoming new and old customers.
He added: “ When local artist Lucy Pittaway called in and asked for 49 of her Tour de France prints to be double mounted, and a further eight to be framed, by the following Wednesday, there was no hesitation, even though it meant working Saturday, Sunday and late into the night to complete the order to a high standard, in time for the Grand Depart.”
The family are developing the gallery with a range of handmade gifts and cards including jewellery, bags, ceramics and delicate woodwork - as well as the usual array of original artwork and prints.
