SCHOOLBOYS Fred Cooper and Isaac Wood, who wore shorts for a year, have raised £160 for research into Parkinson's disease.
The pupils, both aged ten, from Aiskew, Leeming Bar Church of England Primary School, near Bedale, decided to wear shorts even through the depths of winter as a challenge to raise money for charity.
Fred chose Parkinson’s UK because his granny has Parkinson's and he hoped that by raising money he would be helping to find a cure.
Fred said: "My granny has coped well with Parkinson's and has appreciated the money we have raised."
The boys featured in The Northern Echo earlier in the year and said they have had a lot of support from local people who have contacted the school to help them raise the money.
Fred and Isaac said they are now on a roll and keen to find a new challenge for next year .
