A THEATRE is inviting people to take part in a competition to guess the location of a giant cat ahead of this year's pantomime Puss in Boots.

The Georgian Theatre Royal, Richmond, has hidden a five feet tall Puss in Boots cut-out somewhere in the town - and he has visited nine other spots around the town.

Every day from Friday, November 7, a different photograph of Puss will be posted on the theatre's Facebook page for people to try and work out where the swaggering feline has been.

At the end of the ten days, people will be asked to submit their answers to the theatre and the winner will receive a family ticket to the pantomime, which starts its four-week run on Saturday, December 6.

Warnock Kerr, the theatre's chief executive, said: “We wanted to have a bit of fun in the lead up to the pantomime and it certainly raised some smiles when we turned up at the various locations for our photo shoots.

“Some of the places should be easy to guess but others may be a bit more difficult to work out - even if it is not so obvious at first there will be clues within the picture."

For those people not on Facebook, all ten photographs will be displayed on the theatre’s website www.georgiantheatreroyal.co.uk and in the theatre’s foyer from Monday, November 17. The closing date for answers will be Friday, November 21.
