THE style of the 1940s and 50s will be recreated later this month at a celebration dance to help raise funds for a new hospital scanner.

The vintage evening will be held at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton on January 31 from 7pm until late in aid of the hospital’s £2m MRI scanner appeal.

Tickets are £25 per person and include a hot and cold buffet and welcome drink. A licensed bar is also available.

Entertainment includes singer Samantha Holden, a live jive demonstration by Diane Darville, Colin Bourdiec appearing as George Formby and DJ Gramophone with original 78 records.

Also attending will be members of the Northern World War 11 Association while Dave Dee will be bringing military vehicles to add to the atmosphere.
