THE sights and sounds of a city’s past, present and future will be the theme of a free family event later this month.

Ripon’s Workhouse, Prison, Police and Courthouse museums will all be taking part in the event from 11am to 4pm on March 14.

And events will also be featured at Ripon Cathedral, the library and Community House.

Local councillor Stuart Martin said: “This will be a great opportunity for families to learn more about the history of Ripon past and present whilst also having a opportunity to experience new things and it promises to be a great day out for all the family."

Called the Sights and Sounds…My Community, My Ripon” the event has been organised by the Ripon Minster My Neighbourhood Project team, which comprises of 15 public and voluntary organisations.
