A CONCERT in aid of a lung charity has been rearranged after a power cut forced the event to be cancelled.

The Sing for Life Choir and Thorpe Thewles Pop Choir were performing at the Bishop Auckland Methodist Church Hall, Cockton Hill Road, earlier this month when the lights went out.

So the organisers Breathe Easy Durham Dales stopped the evening on safety grounds and it will now take place on Tuesday, May 20, at 7.30pm.

The programme will include a selection of modern, classical and pop and there will be an opportunity for the audience to join in.

Proceeds will go to the British Lung Foundation.

Last year, the concert raised £600 for the charity and the group raised a further £500, which was donated to Durham Dales Respiratory Needs.

Tickets for the original event remain valid, however there are some available at £5 for adults and £3 concessions/children. Light refreshments will be available.
