A SHILDON care home has celebrated its 10th anniversary with a special party.

Redworth House, on Byerley Road, held the fun-filled day for staff and residents to recognise the milestone.

One of the residents, Patsy Monk, had particular cause for celebration as her husband Tony was one of the workers who helped build the home in 2004.

Also at the party were the home’s longest servinig members of staff who have been there since it opened. Robin Mortimer, the home’s maintenance man lives near Redworth House and remembers watching it being built and Ian Dawson, a catering assistant at the home.

Joan McNeil, home manager, said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating a decade since the home was built. The facilities we have on offer at Redworth House are excellent and we strive to provide our residents with the best possible care and support.

“The party was the perfect way to celebrate the home’s ten year anniversary and I would like to thank everyone for attending and especially singer Kevin Royal for his performance, which the residents and staff really enjoyed.”

Redworth House provides nursing and residential care for up to 57 residents.
