A POPULAR family sport programme is back following a winter break.

Parklife takes place at several indoor venues across Bishop Auckland, Crook and Shildon with activities ranging from football and cricket to archery and boot camps.

Some activities will be free for the first session and others may have no charge for parents so the whole family can get involved.

It runs until April 12 and for full details visit durham.gov.uk/parklife.

After that events will move out to parks with the start of the spring and summer programme which runs until September 25.

There is also an outdoor Easter schedule with events at Hackworth Park, Shildon, Glenholme Park, Crook and Town Recreational Park, Bishop Auckland.

Marie Urwin, sport and physical activity development officer at Durham County Council, said: “Hundreds of people have taken part and we are looking forward to welcoming new people on the road to fitness for the New Year.”
