VILLAGERS in Hamsterley will be treated to a special performance from comedic musical group, Bowjangles, on February 5.

That’s after the Highlights Rural Touring Scheme announced a new season of 16 performances which will appear at 11 community venues across Teesdale and Wear Valley until May.

The group will bring their TV parody On The Box! to the village hall.

Group members, violist Bertie Anderson, cellist Ezme Gaze and violinists Ed Bruggemeyer and Mitch McGugan, combine virtuoso string quartet performance with vocals, comedy and dance moves to put on a show which uses almost every style of music in a scene by scene TV parody of horror movies, sport, Strictly, the news and weather.

They promise non-stop humour with their musical mash-ups which are delivered with rousing songs and four-part harmonies.

The group have travelled the world and will be starting their performance in Hamsterley Village Hall from 7.30pm.

Guests should bring their own drinks.

Tickets, costing £7.50 for adults, £5 for children and £22 for a family, are available by calling Jaquie on 01388-488323, Simon 01388-488024 or online at www.highlightsnorth.co.uk
