A MAN showed up drunk and invited himself in to a house he was ordered to stay away from last year, a court heard today (Tuesday, February 10).

Bartly James Graham, 26, was given a restraining order just before Christmas last year and ordered to stay away from the victim.

Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court heard how he visited the victim's home late last Tuesday evening (February 3).

Joanne Hesse, prosecuting, said: “The victim said they heard a knock at the door and as they opened it the defendant entered the property, sat on the sofa and appeared drunk and aggressive.

“The victim told him he had breached his restraining order but he said he didn’t care and he only left when the victim threatened to call the police.”

Graham, of Commerical Street, Willington, pleaded guilty to the charge of harassment with no mitigation and District Judge Martin Walker enforced a six-week curfew from 7pm to 7am.

A 12-month suspended sentence handed out for a previous offence was also extended by four months and Graham was ordered to pay £100 compensation to the victim.
