RESIDENTS at a nursing home enjoyed a singalong as part of an MP's visit to see the facilities.
Pat Glass, the representative for North West Durham, visited Richmond Court nursing home, at Willington Care Village.
She met residents at the home on Hall Lane, in Willington, alongside Willington mayor Councillor Fraser Tinsley today. (Friday, February 27)
Julie Gray, general manager at Richmond Court, said: “We are over the moon that she came to see us.
“Mrs Glass was interested in coming here to look around to see what services we offer as she has heard good things about the home.
“She had a walk around the building to meet the residents and to see the amenities which we have on offer here.”
The nursing home has 45 residents and during Mrs Glass’ visit singer John Doonan entertained them with songs from the 1950s and 1960s.
The staff at the care home provide specialist treatment for dementia sufferers and for youngsters with learning difficulties.
Richmond Court staff also help people with Alzheimer’s, bipolar, Down's syndrome, strokes, epilepsy and schizophrenia.
