A PROJECT to landscape three large roundabouts in St Helen Auckland has been completed.

County councillors Rob Yorke and Christine Wilson met with workmen to see the finished roundabouts at the Bishop Auckland Retail Park, after Durham County Council funded the project.

Cllr Yorke praised the work, especially the materials used, which he said were low maintenance, such as gravels and bracken instead of grass.

He said: “We have been looking to have the roundabouts tidied up for some time now so we were delighted when Durham County Council agreed to do some work on these three roundabouts on the retail park.

“It’s the main thoroughfare in and out of the retail park at St Helen Auckland and the roundabouts are really aesthetically pleasing now, they look really good so we are delighted that the council have been able to carry out the work.”

Cllr Yorke said he hoped the council would now be able to start work on two further roundabouts on the West Auckland bypass.
