AN Easter fun day raised more than £500 to help with the running costs of an animal sanctuary.
Staff at the Ark on the Edge animal sanctuary, at Woolley Hill Farm, Woodland, near to Hamsterley Forest, took part.
Visitors petted and fed three day-old lambs plus other animals at the sanctuary and took part in an Easter egg hunt.
There were nearly 500 Easter eggs dotted around the area and each one contained a prize for the lucky finder.
Pat Kingsnorth, chairwoman of the sanctuary, said: “We had a steady flow of people coming through and everyone really enjoyed it.
“The number of visitors exceeded my expectations as there was so much going on elsewhere for the Easter weekend.
“To date we have raised just over £500, but there is still some more money to come in. It will be used to pay for general running costs at the sanctuary.”
