A DEVELOPER has secured planning permission to build houses on a former health centre site.

Durham County Council approved plans for 12 brick-built terraced houses in two rows on the former Willington Health Centre plot, on Chapel Street, Willington, on Thursday.

A row of nine properties will be built at the front of the site with a small row of three behind, on the former car park.

Off street parking will also be created.

The council received no comments on the proposal and applicant Daniel Haffendon will pay £12,000 towards social, community or recreation facilities as a condition of the consent.
