COUNTY Durham Community Foundation (CDCF) has visited a Bishop Auckland youth project as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations.

Representatives from the Banks Group, law firm Ward Hadaway and UBS Wealth Management have visited Auckland Youth and Community Centre, as part of the programme planned to showcase elements of work funded by the foundation as it reaches its 20-year milestone.

Auckland Youth and Community Centre has benefitted from grants from CDCF for around ten years and along with other funding streams and the building of a sustainable business plan, has become an organisation which give enormous benefit to the local community.

The community centre provides a wide range of services for the young people in the area, ranging from drop in sessions to after school clubs and healthy lifestyle and advice sessions.

John Wiseman, Business Development Manager at the community centre said: “It was a pleasure to have everyone here to see the work that we do and I hope that everyone found the visit useful, informative and enjoyable! I am sure that our guests were able to gain at least a small taste of the important work we do for local children, young people and their families and – critically – the significance of support from donors and the Community Foundation, both in the here-and-now and in helping us to plan for a more sustainable future.”
