“In tough times it is extremely rewarding to know that our efforts are making a difference. It is our firm intention to continue developing the company by improving the skills and training of our staff with help from NECC.”

The award for learner of the year went to Laura Kisby, of Sunderland’s Pennywell Youth Project.

The NECC’s director of training and skills development, Patricia Wilkinson was at the awards. She said: “It makes me extremely proud to see so many people succeed through the training we provide. I hope that these awards will inspire many more businesses and people to consider how they can improve their skills in the future.”
