THE work of a youth group got a boost with a £5,000 cheque from North Yorkshire chief constable Grahame Maxwell.
He presented the cheque from the Police Property Fund to manager Abigail Homer McGhie and members of Thirsk Clock.
It caters for young people aged 12 to 25 and provides services including one-to-one intensive support, information sharing, advice about jobs, training, health and housing, as well as organising social events.
Mr Maxwell said: "Thirsk Clock is an outstanding resource that plays a vital role in the area and enables the young people to address issues they have in everyday life."
