BOYZONE’S Shane Lynch has kept a secret for years. He’s struggled with reading and writing all his life, and was even asked to leave school because he was thought to be lazy and destructive.
Evidently, things worked out okay for him, but after being told a couple of years ago that he may have dyslexia and now he’s a father himself, Lynch wants to find out how today’s dyslexic youngsters are coping.
But the programme, Shane Lynch: Dyslexia – My Secret Past, will be a turning point for Lynch himself, as he prepares to be assessed once and for all. Does he have dyslexia, or something else entirely?
The outcome doesn’t matter as much to him as getting his message out there, namely people should never feel ashamed or try to hide the fact they struggle with reading and writing.
