I RECENTLY visited Darlington’s covered market and my favourite fishmonger but, oh dear, the buses. It does seem curious that a town with a population of more than 97,000 people doesn’t have a purpose-built bus station.
After all that pedestrianfriendly work on High Row, further improvement seems to have ground to a halt.
Could it be that the local authority is awaiting other developments before considering a bus station? I think we should be told.
There have been one or two accidents involving buses recently and it’s a wonder that there hasn’t been a serious or fatal one.
