THE Hear All Sides page is aptly named, but some readers may be irritated when a prolonged exchange of views on a single issue develops between two or three regular correspondents.
On the other hand, if the exchange is conducted with courtesy, it may provide, for other readers, an informative analysis of an important issue.
However, there has to be a limit.
Tempted as I am to respond to Kev McStravick’s latest letter on the US drones campaign (HAS, Nov 5), I think that limit has been reached.
Both sides of the argument have been adequately aired and those readers who are interested can make up their own minds, or investigate further.
Meanwhile, perhaps Kev and I should do our bit to preserve that excellent institution, the British pub, and continue the conversation over a pint.
Pete Winstanley, Durham.
