I HOPE that President Barack Obama will be re-elected in this week’s US elections.
There is a stark contrast between his actions and those of our own government.
President Obama wants to move away from a private healthcare system.
Meanwhile, our government is moving towards more private involvement.
The Obama administration has invested heavily in the US car industry.
Our Chancellor, George Osborne, is a governor of the European Investment Bank which has invested £80m in a Turkish car plant run by Ford.
The factory manufactures the Transit van prompting Ford to close the Transit factory in Southampton – leading to the loss of more than 1,000 British jobs.
The US has had 15 months of continuous growth, we have had a double dip recession.
So good luck to President Obama. Hopefully, he will succed for the good of us all.
I wish there were more world leaders like him.
Liam Carr, Consett.
