REGARDING the “shed” that John Watson has spotted in Durham Market Place and asks if it is another charity shop (HAS, Dec 13). If our governments had not given away money to foreign countries in the guise of foreign aid, there wouldn’t be as much need for so many charity shops.

We should instead be using our money to help our own people. It is shameful for a country such as Great Britain to have so many homeless people, especially brave exservicemen.

Oh, and back to the “shed”.

Maybe the county council is reopening the old underground toilet in the Market Place. That would be novel. Then there would be no need for the morons to pee everywhere they shouldn’t.
