AS Easter Sunday dragged on endlessly this year, I found my memory going back to the tedious Sundays in the 1950s and early 1960s when the godbothering lobby held sway.
Virtually all the shops were shut and there was definitely no sport of any description.
Actually, I had a theory that the Government preferred it that way as people were actually thankful to be going back to work on Monday mornings.
