WONGA is writing off £220m to 330,000 people who were given loans they could not afford(Echo, Oct 3), as the company had not carried out the necessary checks. This company, and others like it, is a disgrace preying on vulnerable people.
That a premiership football club like Newcastle United should ever have become associated with this company is also a disgrace, and they should think more carefully about future sponsors.
