NO employee should be irreplaceable. One has to agree with the decision by the BBC's Director General Tony Hall not to renew Jeremy Clarkson's contract. Lord Hall said “a line has been crossed” and he “cannot condone what has happened on this occasion”.
The BBC is a great institution and no one is bigger than the BBC.
The BBC is held with the highest regard not just in this country but throughout the world, hence when it comes to a reputation issue, whether it is Jeremy Clarkson or the BBC, the BBC wins hands down.
I'm sure Jeremy will move on, but more importantly the BBC will remain a greatly respected organisation.
Cllr George Robert Dunning, Redcar and Cleveland council.
