AS a supporter of a football league team it angers lower division supporters when the likes of Arsene Wenger, Alex Ferguson and Glen Roeder say they wish to scrap FA Cup replays.

These big cup draws, and possible replays, are the highlight of the season for us, and are a lucrative financial windfall for the lower level clubs.

While the greedy big clubs only wish to concentrate on the high profile Champions League, Uefa Cup and Premier League matches to even further fill their coffers, they forget the Darlingtons, etc, do not benefit from these high revenue games.

However, if the greedy big clubs do wish to scrap cup replays then they could start the ball rolling by offering the collective Football League clubs, as compensation, a seasonal payment of £25m Premiership money, £2m Uefa Cup money and £10m Champions League money to be divided between the clubs.

Then, perhaps, replays could be scrapped. - Mark Anderson, Middleton St George, near Darlington.
