A REUNION of the former staff and students from Peterlee Grammar Technical School (PGTS), 1962-1978, has been arranged for Saturday, March 26, at Castle Eden Inn (7pm for 7.30pm). Tickets are available from me at the address below and from Peter Holmes (Class of ‘79) at 21 Redlands, Penshaw, Houghton-le-Spring, Tyne and Wear, DH4 7LE.
The cost is £10 per head, which includes a buffet meal, and partners are also invited.
Cheques should be made payable to either myself or PJ Holmes, and accompanied by a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
It is hoped that Bill Metcalfe, headmaster at the school from the outset in September 1962 until its merger with neighbouring Acre Rigg Secondary School in September 1978 to form a split-site comprehensive (Howletch), will attend. He is now in his 93rd year.
