ALAN PARDEW will take Newcastle United to Belgium tomorrow accepting that change will be the operative word once again as he tries to juggle a Europa League campaign with life in the Premier League.

While captain Fabricio Coloccini is expected to face Club Brugge on Thursday night before beginning his three-match domestic ban for kicking out at Luis Suarez on Sunday, both James Perch, Yohan Cabaye and Demba Ba will be missing after the injuries they suffered at Anfield.

Pardew, knowing Newcastle are in touch of progressing from the group stage in Europe, is likely to name a youthful team across the North Sea with the options he has available to him.

But regardless of what team is selected for the Brugge trip or that which faces West Ham United at St James Park on Sunday, goalkeeper Tim Krul believes the togetherness in the squad is such they can claim a result regardless of personnel on the field.

"The spirit is definitely back in the squad that we had last season," said Krul. "There is a real determination within the squad that was there last too.

"Of course, I have been injured as well, and we haven't really had a solid base all season. It doesn't look like it's going to be like that for the next few weeks either. That's a shame, but we still walked away from Anfield with a point and we have some great games to look forward to.

"There's going to be more changes in the backline now, and that's always something you could really do without. Fabricio is one our star players, so it is a shame we are going to be without him. Its happened though and we have to handle it, just like weve handled it all year. We'll be all right."

Newcastles only defeats from 16 matches this season have arrived in dates with Chelsea and Manchester United (one in the League Cup) despite the constant tinkering with selection.

But there was slight disappointment on the return journey from Liverpool on Sunday night after Cabayes first half opener put Newcastle in the driving seat for all three points.

However, Suarezs stunning equaliser prevented a first away win of the campaign, which leaves the Magpies sitting in tenth ahead of the visit of West Ham in the Premier League this Sunday.

"There are mixed feelings after the Liverpool game," said Krul. "I think we should be happy with a point, especially when you lose your key players through injury. I don't think you can complain because they played well as well. It's just a shame to lose your star players. That's the only downside of the day, but it is a big one.

"We knew they were going to keep the ball a lot, but over the course of the game, they didn't really hurt us. We did well, but they scored a great goal at the end of the day and sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say, That's a good goal.

"If you keep not losing away and then winning your home games, you are always going to do well in the league. The next four or five games are going to be massive for us, and ones we feel we can definitely get three points off. We just need to be ready and hopefully get everybody fit. Hopefully some of the injuries are not as bad as first thought."

Cabayes injury, particularly, has received encouraging news, but he is unlikely to be risked when Newcastle face Brugge.

The Frenchman tweaked a hamstring at Anfield but is hoping to face West Ham. He said: We have so many important games coming up and I dont want to miss out. Its a tight hamstring but I dont think it is too bad."

Newcastle already know Perch is likely to be missing for the best part of a month with thigh trouble, while Bas fitness will be monitored and protected after a recurrence of a shin complaint sustained against West Brom.
