DONCASTER brings down the curtain this afternoon on another fantastic Flat season, with the memories of the wonderful Frankel expected to last a lifetime.

It been a great few years for horseracing. After Sea The Stars a few years ago, people didn't expect to see something as good come along so soon, never mind one better. And, for jump enthusiasts, Kauto Star has lit up the winter months for eight years now.

As always, the Betfred November Handicap is the final highlight on Town Moor, before many of the jockeys heading abroad to ride in different countries.

No fewer than 23 are set to face the starter at 2.35 and Ed Dunlop could well hold the key to this very tricky handicap.

The Newmarket trainer has two live chances with Voodoo Prince and The Tiger.

Graham Lee, who has enjoyed an unbelievable first season on the Flat, has ridden the pair to victory already this season. But with The Tiger having a feather weight on his back he has no choice but to ride Voodoo Prince, who is a son of top race mare Ouija Board.

My slight preference would be for The Tiger. Lightly-raced, he has impressed with his smooth victories at Pontefract and Catterick and there could well be more to come.

For me the Flat season has already finished as I'm making the long journey south for Wincanton this afternoon, which features the Elite Hurdle.

Champion trainer Paul Nicholls saddles three of the seven-strong field and I hate going against the master trainer but I'm going to take a chance on the four-year-old Balder Success.

Trained by Alan King, he made a very big impression very quickly last season before falling at Cheltenham and unseating today's rider Robert Thornton at the very first flight at Punchestown.

With a lovely racing weight today, he's the least exposed in the line-up and should make his presence felt.
