MIDDLESBROUGH could be set to sign former England international Kieron Dyer.

The injury hit 34-year-old was released by Queens Park Rangers earlier this month.

It is understood Boro boss, Tony Mowbray, who knows the player from his time at Ipswich, is set to give him an opportunity to prove his worth to the Championship side.

Any deal will be on a pay-as-you-play basis and it could be agreed tomorrow.

Is this to keep Jonathan Woodgate company in the treatment room? Any club that signs Dyer deserves to be laughed at the man has conned clubs out of thousands a week for almost all his career. Never fit and yet always seems to find a club that cant wait to sign him up.
