Sessegnon leaves Sunderland to join West Brom
STEPHANE SESSEGNON has completed a deadline-day move from Sunderland to West Brom.
The striker has signed a three-year deal at the Hawthorns, and moves for an undisclosed fee, which is understood to be around £6m.
Sessegnon was given permission to travel to the Midlands early this morning after West Brom lodged a formal offer for his services.
Despite being one of Sunderland's most influential performers last season, Sessegnon fell out of favour with Black Cats boss Paolo Di Canio.
His fate was effectively sealed last week when he was charged with drink driving at the same time as Sunderland were recording a Capital One Cup win over MK Dons.
That led to him being axed from the squad for last weekend's Premier League game at Crystal Palace, with Di Canio effectively deciding the African's time at the Stadium of Light was at an end.
Sessegnon moved to Sunderland in a £5.5m move from Paris St Germain in January 2011, and started all bar seven of the Wearsiders' league matches in the last two seasons, scoring 14 goals.
