SUNDERLAND goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has extended his loan spell with League One side Carlisle United until the end of the season.

The 20-year old shot-stopper arrived at Brunton Park last month and has made six appearances for Graham Kavanagh’s men, who are currently 19th in the table.

Pickford joined Sunderland in 2010 and has also had loan spells with Darlington, Alfreton Town and earlier this season, Burton Albion.

He had been on the bench a number of times for Sunderland but was allowed to head out following the arrival of Oscar Ustari in January.
