The Gary Brown-Joe Tait centre-back pairing is reunited this evening in Darlington’s game with Cammell Laird.
The two defenders were the bedrock of the team which won promotion from the Ebac Northern League, but Brown has been injured for most of this campaign while Tait joined Gateshead last summer before returning on loan in January.
They start tonight as Alan White and Chris Hunter, the previous first-choice centre-backs are suspended and injured respectively.
Also recalled is Stephen Harrison, whose place at right-back for Saturday’s 2-0 win over New Mills was taken by Brown, while in midfield Davis comes in for Dale Hopson, who is on the bench.
With injuries and suspensions having an impact, Darlington have two youth team players on the bench in David Mitchell and Adam Cocks. Both have made previously brief appearances from the bench.
Darlington: Bell; Harrison, Brown, Tait, Galbraith; Robinson, Davis, Scott; Thompson, Dowson, Purewal. Subs: Jameson (gk), Mitchell, Cocks, Hopson, Fisher
Cammell Laird: Langley, Parle, Foley, Hollett, Dysart, Mooney, Couch, Evans, Cairns, Holt, Henders. Subs: Foy, O’Brien, Potter, Sullivan
