FORMER Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon has agreed to sign a two-year pay-as-you-play deal with Celtic.

Gordon, the former Scotland No 1, has not played first team football since April 2012 but has impressed Celtic's new manager Ronny Deila and goalkeeper coach Stevie Woods sufficiently to earn a deal.

The 31-year-old, who Sunderland paid a record-busting £9m to Hearts for in 2007, has been without a club for more than a year and has been hoping to work his way back in to Scottish football.

Gordon flies out to Celtic’s Austria training camp this week to meet his new team-mates and there is a chance he could start the new campaign in goal if tentative interest from abroad in England goalkeeper Fraser Forster comes to anything.
