NEWCASTLE UNITED'S first-team squad were all at sea this morning as their training session was switched to Tynemouth beach.
The Magpies' senior players returned to the North-East on Monday to begin their pre-season preparations for the new season.
However, boss Alan Pardew fancied a change of scenery and whisked his squad away from their Benton base to the North Sea coast - with hundreds of onlookers watching them being put through their paces.
The likes of Fabricio Coloccini, Mike Williamson and new signings Siem de Jong and Ayoze Perez went paddling in the sea and did some running exercises on the beach as they continued to limber up for the new campaign.
