DUTCH defender Daryl Janmaat will head for Tyneside tomorrow to become Newcastle United’s fifth signing of the summer.

After last night’s confirmation that Frenchman Remy Cabella has completed his £12m switch from Montpellier, Janmaat is understood to have agreed personal terms after Feyenoord accepted an offer in the region of £6m.

The right-back, who played for Holland during the World Cup, will replace Arsenal bound Mathieu Debuchy provided he passes a medical when he arrives in the North-East in the next 24 hours.

Provided there are no hiccups his signature will take Newcastle’s spending to in excess of £27m this summer, although Debuchy is expected to join Arsenal in a reported £12m switch imminently.

Newcastle are also still in the hunt for at least one new striker. Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette, Queens Park Rangers’ Loic Remy and Monaco’s Emmanuel Riviere are all in their sights.
