DEFENSIVE duo Billy Jones and Santiago Vergini are in line to return for Sunderland against Manchester United on Sunday.
Both players missed the opening day draw at West Brom with Poyet forced to play Wes Brown at right-back at the Hawthorns.
However, Jones and Vergini are both back and Poyet is likely to choose between the two to fill the right-back slot.
“He's (Vergini) available, which is great news and Billy Jones is back,” Poyet revealed. “Our back four last week was a different one to the one we wanted to play - hopefully we'll be back to basics this week.”
Meanwhile, Alfred N’Diaye has left the Stadium of Light after signing a five-year deal worth around £1.5m at Real Betis, where he spent the second half of last season on loan.
