HARTLEPOOL UNITED (4-4-2):

8 Flinders: Stunning save to keep out a Marquis header and didn’t deserve to be beaten ;

7 Duckworth: Dug in when he was pushed back, and tired to prompt attacks on the occasions he was able to

6 Collins: Dominant and defended his area with authority when called upon, will be disappointed in the manner the goal was conceded

6 Bates: Dealt with the assault in the main, never given a chance to ease up as Pools were forced backwards all game

7 Austin: Put under pressure from the opening  minutes. Relished the challenge throughout;

6 Franks: Looking an improved performer in his last two games when he has gave more measured displays

4 Walker: Never hid from the ball, but too slack in possession throughout the first half especially as his passing was off beam

6 Miller: Isolated in central midfield at times, but could have had more of the ball to keep possession for his side

7 Brobbel: Always a threat with his pace on the counter attack, but did a good job defensively when he had to help out;

5 Harewood: Tried to carry on from where he left off last time out, but while his effort was there nothing stuck to him up front

5 Wyke: Like Harewood, worked away, but it didn’t happen for him this time out.

Subs:

Woods (for Harewood 70): Sat deeper than his replacement and tried to put some life into the line-up 5

James (for Franks 90)

Compton (for Brobbel 90)

(not used): Holden, Richards, Harrison, Dixon (gk)
