Sunderland complete their pre-season schedule on Tuesday evening when they line up against North-East neighbours Hartlepool United.

Tony Mowbray’s side drew 1-1 with Spanish side Real Mallorca at the weekend – here are all the details you need to know about Tuesday’s game…

WHERE IS THE GAME TAKING PLACE?

Having played at the Stadium of Light on Saturday afternoon, Sunderland make the short trip down the A19 on Tuesday to take on Pools at the Suit Direct Stadium.

It will be third local friendly the Black Cats have played this summer after previous matches against South Shields and Gateshead.

Pools have already hosted Middlesbrough at the Suit Direct Stadium this summer, with the National League side having claimed a 2-1 win over their Championship opponents.

WHAT TIME IS KICK-OFF?

Tuesday’s game kicks off at 7.30pm.

ARE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE?

Yes – tickets can be bought from the ticketing section of Hartlepool United’s official website.

Away supporters will be situated in the Simpson Millar Stand (also known as the Rink End), which is an all-seated stand with a maximum capacity of 1,020.

Advance purchase tickets are priced at £20 for adults, £14 for concessions (Over-65s, students, armed forces, 18-21-year olds), £10 for Under-18s and £5 for Under-14s.

IS THE GAME BEING TELEVISED OR STREAMED LIVE?

No – there will not be an online streaming service for Tuesday’s game.

Radio coverage will be available on BBC Radio Newcastle, and Scott Wilson will be at the Suit Direct Stadium for The Northern Echo producing a live blog, report, reaction and analysis that will be available on The Northern Echo’s website.

WHAT IS SUNDERLAND’S LIKELY LINE-UP?

With the opening game of the new Championship season now less than a week away, and with most of Sunderland’s first-team regulars having featured in Saturday’s draw with Mallorca, it is anticipated that Tony Mowbray will field a number of youngsters in his side at Hartlepool.

The Black Cats boss brought on six second-half substitutes at the weekend – Nectarios Triantis, Niall Huggins, Jewison Bennette, Chris Rigg, Isaac Lihadji and Abdoullah Ba – and there is a good chance that all six could play at least some part in Tuesday’s game.

It is not anticipated that any of Sunderland’s injured players will be available to return against Pools, with Mowbray having revealed at the weekend that recent addition Eliezer Mayenda is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained during his first training session on Wearside.

HOW ARE HARTLEPOOL SHAPING UP?

Like Sunderland, Pools are heading into their final pre-season friendly ahead of a return to league action at the weekend.

Having been relegated from the Football League last season, John Askey’s side are preparing for a return to the National League having undergone a major summer overhaul.

Mani Dieseruvew and David Ferguson sat out Friday night’s 2-1 defeat to Harrogate Town, but both could be involved against Sunderland.

Kieran Wallace will miss out for Pools with a broken toe, but having returned from injury against Harrogate, Alex Lacey should get another run-out ahead of Saturday’s opening National League game against Barnet.
