Pardew given two-game ban

Banned: Alan Pardew Banned: Alan Pardew

ALAN PARDEW has been hit with a two-match touchline ban after he accepted  a FA charge of improper conduct.

The Newcastle United manager has also been fined £20,000 for shoving referee's assistant Peter Kirkup during the 2-1 win over Tottenham on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.

Today's Independent Regulatory Commission hearing dished out the punishment after he was charged following the incident on August 18, 2012.

The suspension will take place with immediate effect, meaning he sits out the games with Everton and Norwich City. The ban does not include Europa League fixtures, so he will be in the dug-out for the trip to Maritimo on September 20.

Double the punishment that was handed out to Wenger for his push on a referee. Well done FA, as consistent as ever.
