Gillford Park will have their ground inspected tomorrow by the league ahead of their home game with Whickham.

The Cumbrians have moved their home games 35 miles down the road to the Cumberland Academy in Whitehaven because of the problems with their home ground, and the league is inspecting the facilities to establish whether they are up to Second Division standard.

If they aren’t, then Gillford might have to play at Gretna – if they can get a certificate for the floodlights – or they might even have to play somewhere else.

Whickham, who can still push their way into the top three, are missing striker Andrew Snaith because of injury Leaders Newton Aycliffe have a really tough away game at Hebburn, who have won their last five matches to propel them up the table into eighth place.

Aycliffe boss Alan Oliver, whose side is unbeaten in their last 17 league games, will have a full strength squad to choose from. Hebburn will recall Dan Hall and Simon Wilson to their squad, while they have made Alex Dougal available for transfer.

Second placed Guisborough are also on their travels, at Seaham Red Star. Former Hartlepool midfielder Willie Boland returns to the Guisborough squad, but Joel Guy is injured. Seaham, who are third bottom, are without Gary Anderson and Jimmy Farrell, while Simon Todd and Jonny Monaghan will both make their debuts after signing from Durham City. Midfielder Chris McCabe will have a late fitness test.

Third placed North Shields are at Chester-le-Street, and will be at full strength except for Phil Cartwright, who is injured. Chester will give fitness tests to defender Jordan Fraser, midfielder Craig Marron and striker Gary Shields.

Marske United, who are nine points off the top three, are at Brandon, but the match is subject to a pitch inspection this morning after being used on Thursday night. If it goes ahead, Marske will add Karl Charlton, Benn Thompson and Anthony Ormerod to their squad.

Crook manager Brian Maitland is promising changes ahead of their away game at Team Northumbria, following their 5-2 defeat at Guisborough in midweek, and has four players back in the reckoning – Kevin Devine, Mo Abdullah, Liam Beeston, and Paul Moss. Crook have already beaten TN twice this season in Vase and league.

.Darlington RA are hoping to put their last two defeats behind them at home to bottom club Morpeth, and manager Nick Harrison will choose from a full squad. Morpeth have yet to win a league game this season, and will be missing Rob Eastway, Dane Young and Pat Butters.

Northallerton, who have climbed to fifth bottom in recent weeks, go away to Washington, and welcome back defender Martin Butterworth and Matthew Coad, while Peter Bulmer and Ian Smirthwaite will both have fitness tests. Washington have conceded 11 goals in their last two matches, and will recall Will Caris, Wayne Henderson, Sam Hodgson and Ian Davison. However, David Fort will have a fitness test.

Horden go over to Whitehaven, and add Ash Corker and Dan Parker, who had midweek trials with Stockport and Cowdenbeath respectively, back in the squad. Mark Robinson, Andrew Richardson and Adam Croft are all missing.

Birtley, who are at home to Thornaby, are missing Nathan Hepburker and Mark Patterson. While Thornaby recall seven players who missed last week’s game, and have signed striker Paul Thorns from Darlington RA.
