IN A fairly quiet week for running, four Quakers certainly needed the extra day off work on Monday, having taken part in races where the distances went into three figures.

At the Hardmoors 110 mile event, where the route took in the entire length of the Cleveland Way from Helmsley to Filey, Mark Colling and Roy MacDougall finished the epic distance together in 36 hours 45 minutes, with Emily Beaumont not far behind in 38 hours 12 minutes.

Meanwhile over in Lancashire, Dave Thompson took part in the Red Rose 100 race. Taking in a circular route from Rivington, near Bolton, he completed the 100 mile route in an impressive 27 hours 55 minutes.

Closer to home at the Wynyard Woodland trail race, Michael Joyeux finished the 6.5 mile route in 36:53 (and second overall), followed by Andrew Vernon (43:58), Rob Dent (44:27), Dale Chapman (45:39), Stephen Moore (47:37), Paul Roberts (49:27), Gary Read (51:35), Sarah Watson (54:13), Peter Rowley (55:58), Michelle Boshier (57:01), Rebecca Bowes (57:12), Andrew Dixon (1:00:11) and Alec Cinamon (1:04:37).

Two Quakers were the sole representatives at 10K races during the week. Midweek saw Nick Mason complete the race at Whitley Bay in 40:19, while on Sunday, Paul Dalton came home 10th at the Melmerby race, near Ripon, in 35:28.

The second of Stockton Summer 5K races took place midweek, this time at Lordstones, near Carlton Bank. Mark Robinson finished the undulating route in 22:46 followed by Ewan Henderson (23:01), Phil Rutter (24:44), Dale Chapman (26:11), Anthony Corbett (26:55), Rebecca Bowes (28:52), Wendy Colling (29:27), James Simpson (30:52), Paul Appleton (30:54), April Corbett (31:17), Danny Gordon (31:31), Sandra Cass (32:14), Nicola Howe (32:29), Sam Joblin (32:54), Gavin Armstrong (33:55), Alec Cinamon (34:44), Gill Colling (35:54), Diane Adkins (40:56) and Gary Read (42:49).

In the Saturday morning parkruns, Michael Joyeux finished the run at South Park in 16:25 along with Brian Martin (18:42), Michael Kay (19:02), Rob Dent (19:16), Dale Chapman (19:19), Nick Mason (19:37), Steven Snook (20:20), Graham Park (20:32), David Mclachlan (20:36), Phil Clarke (20:51), Rob Gillham (21:07), Billy Harris (21:48), Michael Oliver (22:29), Danny Gordon (24:13), David Brown (24:34), Rebecca Bowes (24:46), Colin Smith (25:18), Gillian Harris (25:31), Fin Fox (25:32), John Brant (25:59), Lewis Boshier (26:11), Michelle Boshier (26:11), Gary Read (27:09), Pamela Barrass (27:10), Sandra Martin (27:41), Fiona Dixon (28:10), Mark Trowles (28:13), Jeff Marriott (28:29), Sally Singleton (28:40), Duncan O'neil (29:36), Lee Morris (30:02), Wendy Noble (30:27), Paul Roberts (30:34), Ashleigh Atkinson (30:38) and Paul Ryan (37:50).

At Albert Park, Stephen Moore completed the run there in 20:33 as did Paula Roberts in 28:59, while at Tees Barrage Paul and Jeanette Appleton ran there in 24:41 and 27:46 respectively. Over at Sedgefield, Diane Adkins finished in 34:13 along with Jill Wallis (35:10) and Lorraine Batts (38:17) while at Hartlepool, Sarah Watson finished in 23:36 (PB) with Andrew Vernon (23:36)

Further afield at Fountains Abbey, Olena Rusa finished in 25:59, followed by Diane Vaughan (28:05) and Joanne Dewar (28:06), while James Simpson headed down to Norfolk to run at Sheringham in 25:41.
