OAKLEAF COLLIERY League

 

                The reigning champions, Hesleden Club whitewashed their hosts, Easington Colliery Club A to open a nine point gap at the top of the league. Hetton Shepherds remain undefeated after dropping only one point to the visiting Peterlee Hearts of Oak A. Coxhoe Red Lion moved into third spot after beating Peterlee Hearts of Oak B.

                Individual performances of the week: Graeme Hills of Hetton Shepherds hit a 180, an 18 dart leg and a 119 checkout; Rob Wild of Hearts of Oak B hit two 180s and a 12 dart leg; Gary Storey of the Red Lion hit a 180 and a 112 checkout; Dick Young and Graeme Hills of the Shepherds hit a 21 dart pairs leg from 801; Eddie Ashman, also of the Shepherds hit a 14 dart leg and team mate, Dick Young a 15 dart leg; Paddy Lenagh of the Red Lion hit a 16 dart leg; John Scullion of Shotton hit a 17 dart leg; Marty Wild of Hearts of Oak B hit an 18 dart leg; Paul Jennings of Hesleden hit a 180 with team mate, Alan Riley hitting a 114 checkout; Andy Barnfield of the Victoria Arms hit a 113 checkout; Micky Naunton of the Bonnie Pit Lad hit a 110 checkout; Matthew Hodgson of the Pavilion hit a 105 checkout and Sid Urwin of the Colliery Club B hit a 100 checkout.

Durham County

 

                The final match of the season for the four Durham County teams, playing the British Darts Organisation Division One is away to Devon this weekend, 30 and 31 May. The Ladies B team and men’s B team will play their matches today, with the Ladies A followed by the men’s A teams will follow on Sunday.

Crook Darts League

 

                The Preliminary rounds of the Wearmouth singles knockout were played at four venues. The qualifiers were S Kyle (Vault) at the Queens Head; L Morton (Vault) at The Mill; D Dodds (Football Club) at The Kings and D Charlton (Lotty’s Bar) at the Football Club.

                There were 180’s for D Dodds and K Sanderson (Football Club), Alan Scott (Fir Tree) and L Morton (The Vault). The play off will be on Finals night at Crook Cricket Club on 29 June.

 

Weardale Ladies K.O. Cup

 

                In the only match played Wolsingham Black Bull travelled to Rookhope Club in the Preliminary Round of the Team Knock Out and won by four points.

                The draw for the First Round is Pack Horse A v Rookhope Inn; Pack Horse B v Rookhope A; Wolsingham Club B v Wolsingham Club A; Golden Lion v Blanchland S.C.; Blue Bell A v Hare & Hounds; Grey Bull B v Grey Bull A; Bonny Moor Hen v Cross Keys; Rookhope Club v Blue Bell B.

                League Finals night is Friday, 31st July.

 

Royal Oak Hotel League

 

                The third place in the semi finals of the Mini League was decided in a very one sided Frosterley Inn derby. The B team won all six singles, where Dean Hope, Billy Stephenson, Chris Henderson, Cole Perry, Mally Craig and Mark Stephenson were successful.

                The A team’s only success came in one of the three doubles games when Nick Rees and Paul Hutchinson beat Chris Henderson and Cole Perry.
